Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible with establishing the current study of the memory of witnesses and children as witnesses. Professor Goodman, who has many publications and many grants to her name, is also the recipient of numerous national and global distinctions. She has offered policy and research consultations to many agencies and departments around the globe. She is currently a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She was a part of several professional associations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and three Divisions of the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
